About
Vinesh Kumar is interested in questions of justice, freedom, and responsibility in everyday life. Through work across housing, support, training, and technology, he explores how organisations can help people live lives they have reason to value.
Over more than twenty years, Vinesh has learnt mostly by building things, testing them, and getting them wrong. Trained originally as an engineer, and later in health policy, he carries a practical curiosity about how systems work and where they fail when human lives are involved. Much of his work comes down to asking the right questions and paying attention to what holds under pressure.
In 2014, he and his wife, Subha Kumar founded iDirect in the South West of England, supporting people to live ordinary lives.
He lives in Essex with his family. He reads and writes as a way of reflecting on practice, runs in Epping Forest, and coaches people of all abilities in athletics. He can be reached at vinesh@idil.co.uk.
